![]() I have reported this site to, but they haven't gotten back to me yet. Many of the passwords were very complex, random numbers and letters. ![]() I have NO idea how they got my password or any of those passwords. The first post was made on JANUARY 5th, 2010. This list was visible on two different sites that had "hack" in the name. It didn't say what account each password was for, but the password it had for my email address was my iTunes password. A hacking forum site came up, and when I clicked on it, it had a list of over +*ONE THOUSAND* PEOPLE'S email addresses WITH their passwords+. +*Anyway, the reason I'm posting is I think I know why this is happening:*+ I did a Google search for the email that I use to log into iTunes. ![]() I would prefer that my account is deleted, even if it means losing the few purchases I have made years ago, as long as it means this will never happen again. They also said that they disabled my account, but I was still able to log-in freely and change info - the only thing disabled was something called "my iTunes" under "Account Info", and I don't even know what that is. When I contacted iTunes about this, asking them to deauthorize the computers on my account so that the thief using my account wouldn't be able to use anything he/she downloaded, they sent me a generic, scripted reply that didn't address any of my questions. I don't know if I will be able to get it refunded the bank is closed until Tuesday. I also called my bank and cancelled my card, but not before charges totaling $345 had accrued. I was very fortunate that the moron doing this didn't think to change the password, and I was able to log in, change my password and delete my payment info. I can't even afford an iPhone or an iPad and here is some jerk blowing my money. The items totaled $345, mainly purchases of apps for iPhone and iPad - which REALLY makes me mad, because I haven't bought anything on iTunes since October 2008. Friday morning, I received a bunch of email receipts from iTunes, saying I'd been buying stuff since 9PM Thursday night, all night, all the way up to 10AM Friday morning. Has anyone else had the same problem?Ī similar thing happened to me. Does Apple expect me to repurchase the whole lot?! I think not! I should have my purchase history recognised and restored.īTW, I have always diligently followed security protocols, and NEVER downloaded anything in public. My bank is now sorting out the fraudulent charges, but what about my legitimate purchase history with iTunes? This fiasco has also compromised my future apps updates, song downloads etc associated to this iTunes account. ![]() In the meantime, those thieving hackers have charged €400 to my VISA!!! (The last bit has not happened as I managed to log in per normal). The response from Apple was basically: "Your account has been hacked, contact your credit card and we'll cancel/suspend your iTunes account". I wrote to Apple support to complain about this. Strange, since I have been making purchases over iTunes using this username since 2005. This time the message was that I had to purchase the app first. But I still could not update the iPhone apps. Thinking that it was some kind of reset due to the update to v9, I did just that - entering the same username, password, address, credit etc etc as before and I managed to enter the store. I quit and tried logging in again, this time the message (in English) was that the user name did not exist and that I should create a new account. I tried logging into my iTunes account via the laptop the whole thing appeared in Chinese. After several attempts I was told to reset my password. Two days ago I tried updating my iPhone apps and got a "wrong password" error.
